Anson “Jay” Henry

A Hyper-realistic artist from the Caribbean Island of Antigua, who loves adventure, traveling & being creative.

Anson “Jay” Henry is one of Antigua and Barbuda‘s leading hyper realistic pencil artists, specializing in portrait drawings and other forms of hyper-realism. His work sparks interest in both a local and international audience. Anson Henry was born an Artist, and at a very early age this was evident. By the time he accomplished his secondary education he was already well known amongst other local artists. Anson became a Visual Arts teacher and started developing his skill in photo realism using graphite and charcoal pencils. He has been featured in various interviews and articles which includes Carib Antigua, Wadadli Pen, ACN, the Observer Media Group, Simply Antigua Barbua, and various ABS productions just to name a few. Anson Henry is a renegade amongst Caribbean artists and is not afraid to go beyond the expected boundaries of Islanders who reside in the West Indies. Although he favors working in only black and white because of the nostalgic feel it presents to his pieces, he would still occasionally incorporate colour into his artwork. Whether it is commissioned, original or even prints, his work can be found in many businesses and private residences both locally and internationally. His inspiration constantly evolves and is drawn from any random thought or moment, so don’t be surprised if he pulls his next inspiration from you…
